Money Spending and Utility

As an economist, I’ve always believed that money is meant for spending. If you don’t spend it, you don’t get the utility from it—though I do understand that, for some, watching their savings grow brings a certain joy.

But today, after making a big purchase, I checked my bank balance. The sudden, dramatic drop left me feeling completely unmoored.

It turns out the real secret to life is just working hard and making money—because love won’t pay for takeout.

Now here I am, clutching my metaphorical wallet, while my heart quietly bleeds inside :(
